Townsend Park, Chilliwack Field Hockey Updated Field Procedures

Facility Access
Both teams will be provided their own Townsend Turf A Entrance and Exit points. Each game or practice under Chilliwack Field Hockey will have no more than 50 individuals on the turf. Users and patrons cannot enter the playing surface or exit their vehicles more than 15 minutes before the event start time. Users and patrons cannot stay any more than 10 minutes after the event concludes. All users are expected to arrive at the turf surface ready to play.


The 50 people in attendance includes but does not be limited to players, coaches, refs, team volunteers, and personnel on the playing surface. Spectators can no longer attend outdoor sport activities. No more than 50 bodies can be within the fenced compound of Townsend Turf A. Bleachers will be sanitized after the event by Chilliwack Field Hockey personnel. 


Visiting teams will be asked for a list of all people in attendance (players, staff, spectators), with functional contact emails and functional phone numbers, as per contact tracing guidelines set out by the Provincial Health Authority and the City of Chilliwack.

Protection and Safety Considerations

  • All changerooms are closed.
  • Bathroom facilities are located within the spectator area. These port-a-potties are sanitized daily by City personnel.
  • All individuals who are using the field under Chilliwack Field Hockey must wear a mask (covering nose and mouth) to enter and exit the field area.
  • Spectators can no longer attend outdoor sport activities.
  • Chilliwack Field Hockey will have a Covid Safety Officer on field as per playing guidelines and provide a Covid Safety Ambassador inside the fenced spectator area.
