The VWFHA Executive are pleased to announce the
appointments and reappointment for the 2021/22 season.
Josh Heuving is a recent graduate of the Humber
College Sport Management and Fanshawe College Business-
Accounting programs. During his final year of the Sport
Management he interned with Field Hockey Ontario, where he
was introduced to the sport. During his time at FHO, Josh
assisted with the organization's provincial events, marketing,
officials development, administration and he started the
process of becoming a certified field hockey umpire. Since
graduating Josh decided to move to Vancouver and work with
Squash BC as their Program Coordinator. Josh’s sport playing
background is he played competitive soccer, hockey and
athletics (distance running) growing up. While at Humber and
Fanshawe he was a member of their varsity cross-country
teams, where he helped lead Fanshawe to 4 CCAA National
and 4 OCAA Provincial medals. During Josh’s spare time you
will either find him refereeing semi-professional soccer enjoys
or spending as much time outdoors as possible and exploring
what BC has to offer.
Hannah Tighe is a current member of the West Van
Premier Women’s team and an alumnus of the University of
Toronto Varsity Blues Field hockey team. She helped the Blues
to two CIS National Championships (2007, 2011) during her
time in Toronto. Hannah now works as a Respiratory Therapist
at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver while also completing a
Master’s in Health Administration. Nowadays Hannah enjoys
playing field hockey for the team atmosphere and competitive

January 2, 2021 Women's Umpire Development Program
We are excited to announce a new Women's Umpire Development Program for all clubs
This program is being supported from a grant awarded to the Vancouver Hawks, and is
support all VWFHA members from any club.
The umpire and mentor development program is for anyone with a desire to learn how to
and for umpires who wish to mentor aspiring umpires. League members who are
interested in learning how
to umpire will be partnered with a knowledgeable mentor and both the umpire and mentor
paid for their game assignments.
